The National Service Scheme (NSS) at Guru Shree Shantivijai Jain Arts and Science College provides students with valuable opportunities to participate in social service while developing a sense of responsibility, discipline, and leadership. Guided by the motto “Not Me, But You,” the NSS encourages students to place social welfare above personal interest and to actively contribute to society.

At GSS Jain College, the NSS plays an important role in shaping socially responsible and ethically strong individuals. Through regular involvement in NSS activities, students gain practical experience in understanding social issues and working collectively for the betterment of society. The program helps students develop qualities such as empathy, cooperation, teamwork, and civic awareness.

The NSS unit organizes various activities throughout the academic year, including environmental awareness programs, tree plantation drives, blood donation camps, health and hygiene awareness programs, and road safety campaigns. Volunteers also take part in literacy initiatives, disaster relief activities, and social awareness rallies that promote equality, peace, and sustainable development.

One of the key components of the NSS is the Special Camp Programme, conducted annually in nearby rural areas. During this week-long camp, volunteers stay in the village and actively engage with the local population. Activities such as village cleaning, plastic-free awareness, health camps, and women empowerment programs provide students with firsthand exposure to rural life and social challenges, strengthening their sense of social responsibility.

In addition to social service, the NSS focuses on the overall development of students by enhancing communication skills, leadership qualities, and teamwork. The unit functions under the guidance of committed program officers and faculty members, with strong support from the college management. Through its consistent efforts, the NSS of GSS Jain College contributes to nation-building by nurturing responsible, compassionate, and socially committed citizens.
